Multiliterate People
After reading this article (http://www.readingonline.org/newliteracies/labbo/), I found a definition of multiliteracy that made a lot of sense to me.
Multiliterate people include those who can:
- Use technological tools to read and write various symbolic forms of information (e.g., print, graphics, photographs, video, sound effects, music) as they are displayed digitally on computer screens, not just on paper pages,
- Critically and strategically manage and assemble knowledge from various digital online databases,
- Use their expertise to work collaboratively in flexible online teams that are formed to solve specific problems, and
- Represent a synthesis of knowledge about a topic in informative and persuasive ways with technological tools (Labbo, in press)
